BRAC, a leading development organization, is seeking a Climate Economics Specialist to join their Climate Change Programme (CCP) team. This is a contractual position based at the Head Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Job Purpose:
The Climate Economics Specialist will be responsible for conducting economic research on climate change and analyzing the economic activities of the Climate Resilience Early Warning System (CREWSnet) project. This project aims to extend proven forecasting and simulation methods to predict climate impacts at village and community scales in western Bangladesh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze socio-economic data as per project requirements.
- Develop questionnaires and survey tools and train program participants as required.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and climate risk analyses.
- Assist in running climate/environmental modeling.
- Conduct literature reviews on environmental and climatic data and keep the research and implementation team updated.
- Communicate environmental and climatic information with the community in an easy-to-understand language.
- Support activity planning on environmental governance.
- Actively participate in local-level planning and execution.
- Prepare monthly, periodic, and need-based reports.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of team members and prevent harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s safeguarding goals.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do the same.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Proficient in MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in Bangla and English.
- Proposal and report writing.
- Supervision of field operations.
- Financial management and budgeting.
- Team building and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- People management and donor coordination.
Educational Requirements:
Master’s degree, preferably in Economics from a recognized institute.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of work experience in the relevant field.
